So, lets look into some of the worst offenders of this year. The original list was compiled by NordPass, which is a password manager, and was reported by GizModo. As per the company’s list, there are still millions people using highly insecure passwords like “123456” AND “password” for their various login credentials. The worst part is that some of these passwords in the top 20 are the usual suspects that appear frequently in this list every year.

Unfortunately, while the password might be easy to remember and convenient for the user, they take less than a minute to crack. This also holds true to the other numerical variations like, “000000” or “123123.” Furthermore, this also extends to any other simple alphabetical passwords that generally use adjacent letters on a QWERTY format keyboard like “qwertyuiop” or “asdfghjkl.”
